A group of tech business innovators has launched a project to map out collaboration opportunities and support systems for startups in Metro Manila. The initiative, called SCALE NCR, is focused on creating a five-year roadmap to enhance innovation and accelerate startup growth in the region.
Backed by the Department of Science and Technology, the project will assess all 17 cities in Metro Manila, identifying key elements like community culture, educational programs, and startup support systems. It will also evaluate resources like incubators and accelerators to strengthen the local startup ecosystem.
As part of the initiative, SCALE NCR will establish a Startup Institute to train entrepreneurs and create more early-stage startups. An NCR Investors Network will also be launched to connect startups with investors and offer investment education through workshops.
Additionally, SCALE NCR will host a two-day summit in October 10-11, focusing on the role of startups and MSMEs in driving urban prosperity. With these efforts, the initiative hopes to elevate Metro Manila’s global startup ecosystem ranking and create more opportunities for innovation in the region.
